Replay crew, thanks for the chapters! It really helps me pick up where I left off
I miss Judge Newman and Judge A.
When I had jury duty with the district court last year (population in the district is almost definitely larger than this one), I was one of about 55 people pulled for consideration for a civil trial. There were almost 1000 people called in that day. The other 945 got dismissed after lunch because the criminal case they were marked for ended up taking a plea agreement over lunch. I have no idea what case that even was. So to my inexperienced mind doesn't feel like 1,800 people is a wild amount for something like this.
If I were JJ, I’d move it to one of the closer counties. Every county has similar levels of pre-judgement and media interest, but my deciding factor is the post-trial pressure that might be put on the jury. If you move it Nez Pierce, you are close enough for convenience and you remove some of the key factors like neighbor pressure, local knowledge of the house and law enforcement personnel. But compared to Nez Pierce, there’s no advantage to ADA in terms of pre-taint percentages.
I'm in Richland and that number of non recognition is BS! This is huge all over Washington and Idaho
Thanks for this, Emily!❤
Replay crew! I can't help but think the minute they move the trial somewhere else the media storm will pick back up in whatever county they choose anyway making all of these survey results moot 🤷♀️
Thank you so much for the replay and helping me make heads and tails of this motion, experts and arguments. Truly you are my go-to for all trials that you cover and you won me over during the Depp vs Heard trial and been a law nerd with this wonderful community!!!! You are a deadset LEGEND and much love and respect from Australia 🇦🇺🙏💙
Judge today announced change of venue granted.
I too have now dissociated from this testimony completely
