The story follows David Drayton, played by Thomas Jane (The Punisher, The Expanse), who becomes trapped in a small-town supermarket with his young son and a group of survivors after a mysterious supernatural mist envelops the town. Hidden within the fog are horrifying creatures that attack anyone who ventures outside, forcing the group to barricade themselves inside while tensions begin to rise. As panic spreads, Mrs. Carmody, portrayed by Marcia Gay Harden (Pollock, Mystic River), emerges as a fanatical religious figure who convinces some survivors that the catastrophe is divine punishment. Meanwhile, Laurie Holden (The Walking Dead, Silent Hill) plays teacher Amanda Dunfrey, who becomes a steady ally to David, while André Braugher (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Homicide: Life on the Street) appears as the skeptical lawyer Brent Norton, whose disbelief about the danger outside leads to one of the film’s most infamous moments. From the terrifying pharmacy expedition and brutal creature attacks to the growing paranoia and mob mentality inside the store, The Mist builds toward one of the most shocking and devastating endings in modern horror cinema.
