Description

Physicist and neuroscientist Dr. Alex Gómez-Marín delivered a strikingly activist speech at the Science of Consciousness Conference (TSC) in Barcelona. He argued that we are now in a war on consciousness, with materialism and transhumanism forming a dangerous cocktail. Dr. Alex Gómez-Marín is associate professor of the Spanish Research Council in Alicante, Spain, and director of the Pari Center in Tuscany, Italy. Hans Busstra sat down with Marín directly after his speech to analyze what this war is really about. There's a war on existence, not just on consciousness.

People who habitually say “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” have another habit: ignoring extraordinary evidence.

"I don't see that education is happening in schools, I don't see alot of healing happening in hospitals and I don't see alot of food sold in supermarkets" 💯

Loved this “eso”. I’m one of those lay people in the citadel. 75, terrified in a degrading America, with no safety net, and I found refuge here, as I contemplate the last decades of my life. I may feel trapped by my current reality, but your conversation reminds me that my mind is free… to explore the wider consciousness that is waiting for me. Thank you.

I love this guy. He shoots from the hip. He has passion about the subject and knows exactly how to communicate it.

My takeaway is that as a high school teacher from Texas, as I dive deeper into consciousness and what's happening in our world, it doesn't matter how much more "science" I learn. These guys are just as in the weeds as I am, on this incredible journey just like me. They're just using more specific language that academics has identified as "true", but I think and feel the same. It is dangerous to assume humans who aren't scientists by trade aren't on the same journey, trying to knit together our education within the world and these ideas of consciousness and how much more we are than what we see.

I can’t tell you how happy I was when I started this video and it was Alex being interviewed ❤ I’m a former neuroscientist and am equally fired up about the same issues. Literally every single thing he touched on. (In fact my “former” status is because I couldn’t stomach the lack of integrity on multiple levels within the field and within academia at large. I’m in the US and I can’t imagine how much worse it is getting.)

I reinvent myself every 10 years. At 80, that's all I want to do is to be an example of what it's like to live a life worth living.

i am in love with the genuine diversity of comments here. i work in a warehouse, one gentleman talked about his experience as a welder, another is a school teacher, amongst hundreds of more people thinking about these deep things! it gives me genuine hope and a real sense of goodness in the world that the things that i've been thinking since elementary school is ACTUALLY being reflected by the adults around me! it was always a difficult search back then, it still is now... but... its changing. it really, really is.
