I think the advice about "Don't experiment on Thanksgiving!" is more about trying it out ahead of time, instead of on the day where if it goes wrong Thanksgiving is ruined. Start trialing new possible dishes back in August/September. By Thanksgiving you can have it all thrashed out so you know what works and what is a gastronomic catastrophe waiting to happen.
Please have some sort of video of Josh and John Green discussing tuberculosis and food. It would be so good.
Okay two things, Nicole's sweater is gorgeous and I am with Josh, drinks at 10:30 a.m, aka being relaxed helps a ton.
I understand Josh’s statement about people thinking this is “dumb” but it’s not. I learn so much watching you guys even outside the podcast it’s just a little silly!! But sugar helps the medicine go down. Y’all even inspired me to take cooking as a career seriously. So thank you guys.

The vegetable framed by potato mash is what the Dutch call “stamppot”, the most traditional ones are Kale (boerenkool), sauerkraut and carrots with onion.
