If your 10 year old son gets bored at school sometimes, that doesn't mean he has ADHD, it means he's a 10 year old boy.

I got put on Adderall at age 10. But eventually the doctors told me "You've grown out of ADD" Which... How is that even possible for a "mental disorder"? So I was promptly taken off dextroamphetamine (Adderall) and left to live my adult life without any medications. They then put me on SSRIs because the withdrawal left me depressed. Long story short, I ended up a drug addict because of this. You cannot convince me it was anything else. I'm finally sober at the age of 36 but I still CAN'T F*CKING FOCUS AND THEY EXPECT ME TO SIMPLY BE A NORMAL PERSON NOW. Putting your kids on soft Meth WILL ruin their lives. Don't be fooled by sh*tty doctors who are paid by the pharma industry.

Wow! Online schooling is soo lame that Isabella, a straight A student, would rather clean her room than do the work on her computer.

I gave up my "dream" of being a school teacher after serving in the USAF after taking a "mandatory" college class on "Classroom Management" Most of it was from a childless academic and she was instructing us (mostly older adults with "real-world" experiences) to "practice medicine without a medical degree or license," The class ought to have been retitled as "Coercion 101 to put kids on medications." (State of California, 2002) Normal boy behavior for example was to be MANAGED by medications. I was the parent of a boy that was active, and sometimes had trouble "settling down" There was NOTHING wrong with him, he was normal. But according to this exile in an ivory tower, he was not. Nope! Kids in the 6th and 7th grades need to be DOING not sitting.

South Park covered this in an episode years ago. As students were made to spend more time sitting with fewer chances to burn off energy, some got hyper in class. If they were also smarter kids, they could get very bored at the slow pace and that made it worse. South Park showed that the "solution" was pills. Pills meant money so there was pressure for more and more to be prescribed. Long term effects weren't considered, just grab money now.

I believe for decades that ADHD was just one huge umbrella diagnosis. The doctors get the information from a book and they apply it to you and that's basically it. I was diagnosed with ADHD in my early twenties. it just turns out I had a huge cocaine problem. Once I gave up cocaine the ADHD completely vanished.

"The mother needs the child to be drugged so that the child is not such a burden on her, the mother" By God you said it right there Matt!!! THE MEDICINE IS NOT FOR THE KIDS. ITS FOR THE PARENTS AND TEACHERS THAT "HAVE TO DEAL" WITH THE KIDS. PERIOD. You know what I do when I can see that my kids are getting a little bored and have some pent up energy? I let them go outside and wear themselves out till they're exhausted!!! You won't find a more chill kid after that. They eat dinner cause they're starving from spending all that energy. They take a shower and are ready for bed sometimes before it's even bedtime. Kids didn't evolve in suburbs and houses all day. They evolved out in nature where they could run and play and use up all their energy during the day. Sometimes maybe helping the adults do chores but even that was being outside using up energy. They are trying to fit kids into these boxes that have been constructed for them like 5 minutes ago in human development and expecting them to just sit around all day and be calm. It's ludicrous. My kids go to school but as soon as they get home they barely say 5 words then they're off to play with their friends. They come in for dinner when they're worn out and done with it. Some days their friends aren't around and they just come back in and chill with me all evening. But they can do that because the majority of the time they use up all their energy. I just can't imagine forcing drugs, literal SPEED, down a young child's throat to try to keep them more calm to fit into YOUR lifestyle. Instead of just being an actual parent and giving kids what they need!!! It just infuriates me and I feel sorry for my kid's friends that have this done to them.

I was called to the school when my son was in second grade about his behavior, they said he had adhd, I said I'd take care of it. I dont think I even had to spank him at the time, a talking to was all it took. Then my sister, a teachers aid, told me the school got more funding if more kids had adhd.....well ,well, well...go figure. If I'd listened to those geniuses he'd been on the way to Portland or Seattle. Thank the Lord I didn't.
