Let’s mention that a woman got tried in a court by a female judge, defended by female, against female lawyers, with females in the jury. That shows how much progress females have made in the justice system.
I don't think this trial set back women, but advanced the case for taking male victims of domestic violence seriously and not laughing it off or denigrating his manhood.
As a male victim of DV at the hands of a female, I myself couldn’t be happier to know the court system can actually be used to find the TRUTH regardless of gender.
Elaine kept saying “Amber WON in the UK”, knowing FULL well that Amber wasn’t even a party in that case. She’s despicable for that. Complete lack of ethics.
Many, many years ago I was a 14 year old girl being told by an abusive step-father that no one would believe me and even after all this time... JD verdict felt like vindication. I'll take it, thank you.
What's even more disgusting about them accusing the jury of being influenced by social media is that it was THEIR EXPERT who brought the Twitter hashtags into the courtroom. THEY directly exposed the jury to outside social media influence, it backfired spectacularly, and now they're blaming their massive mistake on the jury. Completely unprofessional.
I used to have sympathy for Elaine having a difficult case with a difficult client, but the minute she decided to go on her Sex, Lies and TMZ Videotape tour and impugn the jury and the judge she completely lost me.
My favorite part of Ben’s closing arguments is that when the judge overruled rottenthingies objection, he objected again saying: “that’s not what she testified.” Ben turned around and said: “That’s EXACTLY what she testified!!!😡😤🤬.” That was such a gorgeous powermove❤
I love how Camille gave full credit to the entire team for what she did in court. She said in People, "I was the one that delivered the cross-examination, but I was very clear that this wasn't my cross examination. This was our team's." That's the mark of an excellent leader. She's an amazing attorney!
Well said Emily regarding the “no one is going to believe you” comment, no victim would ever say that, only the abuser would say that. The Judge, Depp’s lawyers and the jury did a great job.
