The young lady that is sitting next to Judge Newman needs TONS of recognition! Every time somebody references case law all you see on the screen is her arm handing him the book open to the page that states the law. I was watching her this morning while they were all at the bench and she was intently listening to everything that was being said. She is a very very smart young lady. I don’t know if she’s a lawyer or a judicial clerk but she ROCKS! On a side note I love her glasses!!
So AM's response to if he was at the Kennels "No sir, not if my times were right" is an incredibly bizarre response and quickly tells that he is lying because anyone who wasn't there would likely say, "No, I know I wasn't there." Deflecting to the other person to decide based on his times reported is manipulative behavior. I know hindsight is 20-20, but I wonder if the detective caught that at the time.
Fantastic closing argument and the jury loved it according to court reporters.
The “running to her baby” really got me 🥺🥺🥺🥺
If he cared at all about finding out what happened to his family, then why lie. Mary Proctor’s testimony stuck with me, she kept asking why he wasn’t trying to find out who killed Maggie and Paul….. why that wasn’t his main priority…. I feel so sad for her parents and her, the whole family.
The moment you realize the PowerPoint presentation you're putting together for a class, is the same PowerPoint theme Creighton used in his closing arguments.
I liked that Creighton pointed out "I hurt the ones I loved the most" when talking about consciousness of guilt. I remember perking up when Alec said that, but it seemed like he let that one go. Glad to see it wasn't missed. Was a very odd thing to say about your financial victims when you're testifying that you didn't murder your family.
Maggie’s sister saying she was told by Alex that she didn’t suffer. Then she said she wasn’t so sure about that.
I wanted Creighton to say so badly "Paul known as the little detective provided the strongest evidence to solve his and his mothers murder....the kennel video" In my opionion that would of been one of the strongest final statement he could of made.
The snap video is Paul speaking from the grave. "My dad killed me"
