To me, this analogy feels very American, because in Europe, there are many cases where cities have realized that car-centric logistics aren’t very effective. It’s nearly impossible to build a car-dependent city without running into major logistical issues. That’s why many European cities are now encouraging the use of alternative modes of transport and trying to reduce the distances between essential places people need to go.

We can't really change the car but we can make cars go away (like many cities in Europe do...). Cars are being replaced by public transport (trams, metro, bus...) and smaller personal vehicles (bikes, scooters).
