DISCOVER NCI-2: https://nci.university/nci-2 LEARN ABOUT NCI LEVEL 2: https://nci.university/nci-2 There’s a moment in every conversation where everything gets decided. It happens before logic. Before persuasion. Before anyone thinks they’re “in control.” And most people miss it completely. That’s why conversations feel unpredictable… Why people react in ways that don’t make sense… Why you can say the right thing — and still lose the room. Because the outcome was already set. This video breaks down the hidden structure behind human interaction: * how conversations organize themselves before words matter * how frames control behavior without force * how categories decide what’s allowed (and what isn’t) * how identity and metaphor quietly shape every response Once you see it, you’ll recognize it everywhere: in arguments, negotiations, relationships, leadership, media, and everyday conversations. More importantly — you’ll know how to use it. No manipulation tactics. No scripts. No tricks. Just the underlying system that decides what happens next. And once you understand it… you stop reacting inside conversations —and start deciding them. ⸻ 🧠 KEY TOPICS IN THIS VIDEO conversation control psychological influence human behavior explained frame control how to control conversations communication psychology persuasion vs influence social dynamics behavioral psychology covert influence identity psychology negotiation tactics conflict resolution psychology how people think decision making psychology power dynamics in conversations how to read people how to influence people psychological frameworks mental models for communication ⸻ ⚠️ WHAT YOU’LL START TO NOTICE AFTER THIS You’ll see: * when a conversation “locks” * when someone installs a frame * when behavior shifts without explanation * when reality gets decided before content And once you see that… you can’t unsee it. ⸻ 🎯 IF THIS HIT If you’ve ever felt like: * something is off in conversations * people react before thinking * outcomes get decided too early You’re not imagining it. There’s a structure underneath all of it. I can’t say, I already knew this, however i will say working with dementia patients for over 20 years these approaches are really second nature to me when working with a confused person. I couldn’t articulate it the way Chase did but yes I naturally would slow a conversation be agreeable with them and make attempts to reframe what they were thinking about them selves and never never would i say they were wrong. Chase makes me realize….I can do this with people who don’t have dementia. I promise to use my powers for good sir!

When you said "NEVER NEGATE AN IDENTITY.. only offer a more accurate organising metaphor that makes the old one irrelevant"... it made me think of a hermit crab... don't criticise the old shell, place a more appealing one in front of the crab.

25:18 I was an EMT at a private mental health ambo service. I picked this up and it makes every difference. Growing up in abuse, I think I already could read emotions well. I became the one that my partners would ask to be in the back with the "mean ones". One time I just rubbed this "mean" old man's back all the way to his nursing home. We barely spoke two words, but he would fight the others. Just learning to take away judgement and emphasize your compassion can make you tougher and more impactful than you'd think. Listen, listen, listen ❤ Just listen to people. I left EMS bc it's filled with the worst groups of people I'd ever met. No matter where I worked. Bad, cruel, people in that career. And they're called heros too.

These techniques sure are easier to use at work than at home. My wife is a force of nature.

Most content about influence pretends to hand you the keys while keeping one hand on the wheel. This one shows you the ignition, the engine, and then points out that it was already running before you sat down. The category shielding section is the part that should make everyone mildly uncomfortable - not because it is manipulative in the wrong hands, but because once you see it you immediately recognize every meeting, every news segment, and every difficult conversation you have ever lost not on the facts but on the framing that happened before anyone started talking. You were not out-argued. You were out-categorized. That is a genuinely different problem with a genuinely different solution.

I'm going to need this in smaller practice sections. SO GOOD, but I'm going to have to rewatch it 100 times 😂

I never feel certain. Except.. for when I'm certainly wrong. Truth is a journey, not the destination.

You frighten me and the thought that there are others like you out there, scares me even more. At the same time I'm impressed that you are sharing this freely
