Nah Tim (and Sarah), I grew up IN hockey, surrounded by it, saturated in it (two of my older brothers played from toddlerhood to adulthood - both NHL and Europe). That's not "celebration" caught in the moment idiocy. Hockey is one of the most toxic cultures on the planet. Laughing at the comments from the Felon about having to invite the women...that was the misogyny that is baked into that culture, plain and simple. Pure. Misogyny. And it is exactly what I expect from those guys because they are never held accountable. Even now, rather than say "hey, we shouldn't have laughed" they're doubling down. It's not opinion that misogyny exists in hockey culture, it is fact. Listen to women, especially women IN THE CULTURE. End of.

The story about the 13-year-old girl was out before he even ran for office. She stopped her litigation against him because she was getting death threats and back then nobody paid attention. Please wait the fuck up

The problem lies in the fact that the women’s team was never a consideration. Not for high level officials to attend their gold medal game, or crash their locker room or call from the White House, they were an after thought. Their medal didn’t count as much.
