The Kathleen Kennedy episode on South Park was both a documentary of what was already ruined and a prophecy of what was yet to come.
We knew Disney would damage Star Wars. They outperformed all of our expectations
That proper reaction to Rey calling herself a Skywalker was great. We need the Expanded Universe back.
They did this on purpose, they wanted to destroy every piece of your culture that you ever enjoyed so they could rebuild it in their image.
It’s quite impressive how Disney destroyed all three purchased Lucasfilm franchises.
I think Rey being the best Jedi ever with close to no training killed it for me.
Disney wasn’t just pushing out content. They forced diversity, equity, and inclusion into Star Wars and almost every franchise for a decade. These properties had to reflect their own worldviews and agenda, the talentless hacks. But you are right Matt. They greedily pushed for more content, and what do they have to show for it? Nothing but ashes.
Don't underestimate Pedro Pascal fatigue, too.
That ovation when the phantom menace started was unreal, I remember being there cheering with the rest of them. Different time before smart phones for sure, people were so into movies back then.
I don't even consider episodes 7 - 9 as canon
