Kosmos 482 officially crashed! But nobody knows where... ESA which was monitoring the descent mentioned it was supposed to be seen above Germany but failed to appear on radar. Suggesting that it indeed crashed somewhere already https://blogs.esa.int/rocketscience/2025/05/07/reentry-prediction-soviet-era-venera-venus-lander-cosmos-482-descent-craft/

Man, the Venera missions were really underrated given the engineering challengers they posed.

Venera missions also sent video with audio from Venus. First of it's kind from another planet. You can hear the wind and the drill, as the lander drills into the surface for samples.

I think the ancient law of "Finders Keepers" supercedes so-called modern space law.

The booster and transit module separated and fell to earth long ago (in the late 80s i believe). In fact it's very likely that the descent module and transit module separated in back the 70s and at the precise intended time when the probe was supposed to have reached Venus because it kept following the original programming. If that was really the case that would also explain why the parachute might already be open (it kept following the check list).
