The YSL RICO prosecution in Georgia started with jury selection in January 2023. On October 31, 2024, the case came to a shocking end for the lead defendant, Jeffery Williams, aka Young Thug. Young Thug’s attorney, Brian Steel, made it clear he wasn’t happy with his clients' choice to plea open to the court without a plea deal secured after negotiations with prosecutors broke down. It became apparent in the hearing that Young Thug wanted to get out of custody and was willing to sign up for an extensive probationary period to accomplish an immediate release from custody. Plus, last week, we learned that the Grand Jury investigating Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is ongoing and hearing from witnesses. Diddy’s lawyers are pissed that one of those recent grand jury witnesses is speaking to the media and is allegedly ‘shopping’ a video of Diddy before that testimony. The court asked for an immediate response from the defense, and we may soon see a hearing on a Gag Order in the federal prosecution. 1. Brian Steel made me cry because because you can see how much he cares. 2. The prosecution fully showed their asses. 3. Paige made some seriously privileged statements during her sentencing that were just really tone deaf and kind of insulting. It’s clear she has never lived in a state of poverty in a crime riddled area without many options to support herself or her family.

This entire trial has been a nightmare to true justice in my opinion. Your succinct explanation of the legal matters is so helpful. Continued success to your channel and podcast. Thank you for your coverage.

This feels like the state is not capable of proving these charges and is setting a trap - the police could harrass him etc. And he could be back in jail.

I have never been more invested in a case like the YSL. The corruption from the state is baffling. Thank god it was televised

Absolutely understand the defendant's desires. He's been deprived of his freedom without being convicted

While I think the judge comparing rap to the WWE may come across as tone deaf, I think it was actually a good comparison. A big part of this case has been trying to use rap lyrics against YT. The judge is saying that the rap lyrics may just be posturing, like wrestling (which is well known for being scripted). Edit: Those special conditions basically will kill his career. How is he expected to be a good influence if you are taking away his ability to do what made him famous?

I don't see any way he stays in the music biz without violating these terms. Retiring seems like the only safe route.
