Recess is not something a child earns. It's a brainbreak and important for their studies. I'm surprised a teacher don't know that.
Story 4: She's punishing the entire class because she's probably not allowed to call out the worst troublemakers. That said, part of the reason these kids are squirrelly before recess is because they need to burn off that energy. Cancelling recess is only going to exacerbate the issue.
For a story 2, as someone who was adopted themselves, this does break my heart to know that OP is going through this.I wish him luck NTA
For story 1 oh dear God, the sheer entitlements of the brother-in-law OP doesn't owe him a dam thing.
But when the world needed Dabney the most, he vanished.
Last story: I’m speaking as someone who always got stuck with the worst class of my grade, constantly losing their recess because everyone else can’t behave. The teacher even acknowledge I didn’t deserve to miss recess, but told me to be mad at my class for not behaving. I don’t care what anyone’s reasoning is, stop punishing the good kids for what the bad kids do. Cause then when the good kids finally snap, you’re gonna sit there confused to why they’re so angry.
Glad we're all gathered here for his lateness. My after school routine :(
The last story has an update. The tldr of it. Is op went to the principal. Pointed out BOTH the state rule and the schools handbook rule. And the next day(?I believe) OP's son came home telling op he got to play outside.
Story 2: Fun fact, the phrase "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" originally meant "try to do something impossible" Of course, the way it's generally used nowadays, it still means that, just with the person saying it pretending it doesn't.
Story 3: I will happily marry that lazy man if the wife/kids don't want him!
