College advisors in HS who don't tell 90% of the students to do their gen eds at a community college for 1-2 years should be fired.
Can anyone give me a single reason why in the hell the government is subsidizing already ultra overpriced college universities?
No one should be talking about student loan forgiveness until we are no longer giving out student loans. We can't fix a problem that we are still creating.
I can confirm, as a garbage truck driver... I'm livin pretty comfortable right now
Even as a teenager I understood that a 17% interest rate on a loan is insane. I guess my parents raised me right.
Kept having teachers and councilors try to convince me to go to art school, took one look at the tuition fee... roughly $70,000 in 2011, so passed on that.
And the universities in question are blaming legislation for ruining their research funding 😅
How would you fix student debt?
I am a physics professor and I approve this message. I often feel like I am part of a criminal organization. I tried to speak about this to my faculty union and the administration and they blew me off. Some days I wish I was back on the farm driving tractors and pushing cows.
Former school counselor here. I tried over and over to open kids eyes to community college, military, and trade schools. Sometimes the kids were open to it, the parents however were not. Many parents got angry with me for even mentioning alternative options to their high schooler.
