I am a primary care provider- as a family nurse practitioner and a woman I am constantly looking for information on how to help my patients. I took in every word from Dr. Rubin- watched and rewatched- and looked to her data. I am able to write these prescriptions daily and I am! Dr. Rubin and Mel are helping so many women in a trickled down effect every time I send that prescription! Thank you both!
Every woman needs a Dr.Rubin !💜💜💜💜
If all medical doctors could have this kind of heart to care for patients
My biggest frustration is if men were having these issues, they would have had this years ago. I am tired of women having to just "deal with it". Tired of everything for women being so difficult. Thank you for this!!!
I used to be a Health teacher in NYS. I had to have my middle/high school students draw in the clitoris b/c it was not in any textbook. I spent almost an entire lesson on all things clitoris. I even made sure to wear a hoodie to explain and give a visual for the clitoral hood. This is going back 20 years. I'd be damned if my students didn't learn about this. Dr. Rubin should be awarded all of the recognition, awards and grants. She is forever changing female health for future generations.
I am going through perimenopause and went to three different physicians regarding my symptoms because my symptoms were really affecting my everyday life. I really started noticing the symptoms around 42 years old, I'm 44 now. I was gaslit by my doctors saying that, "If I still have my period, I'm fine!" He prescribed me an antidepressant and then told me that if the antidepressant did not work that I'd have to go to a psychiatrist. My gynecologist told me I was fine and it was normal. I was so angry!!!! I finally found a program that helps women going through this and they prescribed me progesterone and estrogen. I FINALLY feel more like myself. Not 100% yet but still working with dosages but I'm soooooooo much better. I'm so angry that women have/had to go through this and I feel awful for all the women in the past that never got any help.
What "Pisses Me Off" is, why are doctors not EDUCATING themselves if they are unaware???? As a nobody with an average girl job - I would not keep my job if I didn't CONTINUALLY educate myself with the latest info about my job so I am currently. I would be considered to not be fulfilling my employment expectations. Why should doctors be any different? Especially doctors!! So frustrating!!! They use the excuse "They didn't teach us that in med school". It's time for them to grow up and be accountable like the rest of us.
I'm 45 and in full perimenopause. I started taking testosterone one year ago. It saved my life on all the levels that Dr. Rubin is talking about. Also just a FYI my body started producing more estrogen when I began taking testosterone. I do not have any negative symptoms and I do not have extra hair anywhere or a deep voice. I also have been talking to women my age and telling them my HRT story and encouraging them to go to my OBGYN who's a wonderful doctor and understands hormones and prescriptions very well. Listening to Dr. Rubin is so very validating and empowering, thank you for fighting for us and changing lives! I'm so grateful for people like you.
My male doctor had me pee in a cup and run a culture. If it did not grow anything, I had no infection. But, I had hormone issues?! There is a female doctor in the same office. I scheduled with her when he was on vacation. She said she reviewed my history before our appointment and sees too many UTIs. I am sending a prescription for vaginal estrogen. I have not had one UTI since!!! So grateful to her being educated about women needs.
This podcast has been life changing for me. I am 56 years old, have given birth to 3 children and am post-menopausal. Not one of my doctors have EVER talked to me about any of this. I have complained about symptoms, and nothing has been done for me. I am having a LOT of the symptoms mentioned in this pod cast and I seriously thought that I had just deal with the symptoms I am having because it is the life stage I am in. I think every single woman on the planet needs to hear this podcast. I have shared it with all of my female friends and family members. Because of this podcast, I am changing my gynecologist, and I am going to take a proactive approach to getting treatment. Thank you!
