As someone who is divorced and has a great relationship with my ex - I agree with so much of what James says. There are so many ways my ex and I could have done better in our marriage, so many ways to take time to take stock in where we were heading - but we waited for the big thing, like he said. My husband cheated and left for the other woman. BUT when he said the way you end it is how you remember the whole thing - so true. I was angry, hurt - all the things, at first. But then I decided to forgive him his humanity, and her. I stopped arguing with reality. Stopped criticizing him for how he handled everything. I just let it go. And our divorce was a breeze. It was cooperative, kind and compassionate. Her and I have a very nice relationship (they stayed together). We are really great co-parents (all three of us) and our two young kids are better for it. Marriages fail and it hurts. That quote from Poe - "Years of love have been forgot in the hatred of a minute." Unfortunately, that is the painful truth for so many couples.

This video could act as pre-marriage counseling for sooo many couples...

this gentleman is possibly the most articulate person I’ve ever heard on this show and that’s saying a lot because there are a lot of articulate people on the show. He can take complicated emotional subjects and make it into something that is really easy to process.
