demand destruction is started, and small retailers and system builders will have 1 ply toilet paper and no coffee.

the bigger issue is some pc vendors like case manufacturers might not not surivive this even if prices drop they might go out of buisness which means less cool parts.

I do the hardware ordering for a 5000 person company, Dell is now only quoting us pricing that's good for 7 days because that's how often they're jacking their prices

For me, the main consumer of resources are gaming. I've started using a 'time machine' to get past increasing hardware costs. I find AAA games to be 1. rubbish and 2. massively over priced (or at least they cost more than i think they are worth. Factor in the Windows 11 forced hardware refresh and it gets expensive fast. My 'time machine' is that I now play games that are roughly 5 years old (or older) and never buy new releases. I dusted off my old PC that was a beast 5 - 6 years ago but didn't have the correct CPU or TPM for Windows 11, stuck Ubuntu and steam on it and haven't looked back.

Yeah I build my on computers for my business and this is ridiculous. The parts are unavailable or 2-4x more expensive. I’m tired of Ai already
