For the phone number story, the reason why the debt collectors stopped fairly early is because of something called skip tracing. With your name and birthdate, they can find new residencies, new phone numbers, new email addresses, last seen IP addresses. And it typically links to suspected spouses, parents, kids, landlords, friends, and other relatives. It's not 100% accurate, but about 95% of the time, it'll lead back to you.

As an autistic person who’s good at video games, that mother has no idea what autism is actually like. Autism isn’t “stupid person disorder”, it just means your brain works differently than the typical one. Hell there’s even a stereotype that Autistic people are smarter than other people because “they think more logically”. In reality we seem really smart about one thing because we obsess over it.
