Ban corporations from buying single family homes.
What isn't discussed much is the cost of maintaining a home. Its getting more and more expensive to have everything from fences to roofs put in. A lot of people think its just about the mortgage but owning a home goes way beyond that and I think its what puts people in debt.
Very VERY rarely have I been in a rental where I didn’t have to bring my own washer/dryer (if in-unit hookups existed). Most landlords either want you to use the ancient coin operated ones they provide in a dark basement or don’t want the added expense of having to service a washer/dryer… also, who are these idiots that are getting adjustable rate mortgages? Have we learned nothing since 2008?
Housing prices have come down? Yeah, from 100-300% previous price increases. So that decline is all but meaningless for most of us
I'm a renter in Oregon and the rent prices are completely insane. My roommates and I just rented a tiny duplex for $2600 a month. With high food prices, high gas prices, and high rent prices I am in complete poverty. People won't put up with this much longer...
Honestly... as a "millennial," I don't root for a new crash, I've just learned to wait for the next one. It's become inevitable, and so I try to plan around when it does happen.
Increase taxes on corporate owned homes. Incrementally increased them for each additional home you own beyond your homestead.
My rent on my two bedroom went up 325 bucks since last month.
These are the topics I love the most in terms of what Breaking Points covers. Thanks!
The interest rates should never have been made so low for so long. We have to pay the piper for the past 14 years of artificial prosperity
