My endocrinologist wanted to put me on Ozempic but I have severe gastritis. I told him I wanted to try carnivor and in 5 mo I've lost 44 lbs and haven't had to take insulin in the last mo and a half. Cardiologist appt coming up Dec 3rd it's going to be interesting to say the least.

I have struggled with food addiction since I was a kid. I tried to go on my first diet when I was 9 years old. I have lost over 100 pounds twice, 85 pounds right before Covid. I'm a nurse, so you can imagine the stress I had at that time, which caused me to go back to carbs. I'm on Mounjaro now, and I know that's not ideal, but my cravings get so out of control that I can't handle it. Mounjaro shuts them down or reduces them to the point that I can handle it. I've done keto/carnivore for about 3 months and have lost 45 pounds. I've also stopped one of my blood pressure meds and reduced my long-acting insulin by half. I have much further to go, but I finally have hope that I can do this for the rest of my life.

Yes! I’ve been surprised when a “carb slip“ has resulted in massive cravings! Whether sugar or bread or potatoes or popcorn, it’s better to leave those alone. Or accept the consequences which include “ effort” to get back on track until the cravings subside.

Love how transparent you are! Still at #4 sugar desire after a year but you talking about your own struggles helped tremendously!

This was probably one of my fave videos you have done! Thanks Dr Boz I’m a carb sugar addict. This really hit home as I think our society government has made our foods so addictive for years and years. I quit smoking years ago but this carb stuff is no joke. 😅

Yes well given yourself a shot to lose weight that’s ridiculous. I was 236 pounds and I lost 80 pounds and 2016 and kept it off. I did low-carb and people were telling me I need to eat more. No we’re not doing that. I ate more of the things that were good for me eggs and meat and butter and cheese and none of the stupid oil that we thought were always so good for baking and everything else and they’re not we’ve been lied to bacon is the best it’s not bad either and I was 67 at the time, so you can do it even after you retired wish I would’ve done it sooner. Wish I would’ve known about it. I didn’t know people that are doing the shots to lose weight. My friend had him surgery for losing weight and she couldn’t eat but couple tablespoons full of food, and she ended up getting dimension. People are getting cancer from all kinds of things and a lot of it has to do with what you eat.❤

After 3 weeks of tirzepatide the alcohol noise left my brain. I had fallen into a nightly habit of a cocktail and could not break that habit. It took getting bad lab results for liver enzymes and blood glucose to wake me up and take action. After 3-1/2 months on zepbound, following ketovore diet, daily exercise, sustained ketosis, I have lost 55 pounds. And the alcohol noise and food noise is still gone. My plan is to stay ketovore for life to keep the diabetes in remission and then dose down to get off the zepbound completely. The hand up that the tirzepatide gave me is amazing. But the lifestyle change has to go with it.

Oh you hit the nail on the head with this one. That food noise is so strong and real. So hard to break. I went carnivore in August and I just realized that food noise is now gone. So thankful. Now I see food purely as fuel. Thankful I dont have to rely on a drug.
