for someone who doesn’t know namor all that well compared to other marvel hero’s I think they did him perfectly he was so menacing and badass I wanted more of him so bad
I've said this in the comments allot. Namor is my first antihero in comics. And I'm actually really happy with his MCU version. It might also be that I have a fascination with Aztec and Mezo-American culture. Wakanda Forever supplanted Winter Solider on my MCU list, I did not expect that to happen. Once Killmonger showed up I saw where the story is going.
Just watched it today and I REALLY enjoyed it! I teared up twice but I LOVED Namor such a striking character that I felt sympathetic for and at the same time anger for… But the actor did a great job in my mind.
I had major Lion King 2 "He Lives In You" vibes during T'Challa's son revealing himself during the mid-credits scene. It might have been the surge of dopamine in that moment, but I see so much of Chadwick Boseman's presence and T'Challa's grace in that kid. Especially the way he addressed himself as Prince T'Challa; Son of King T'Challa. Nakia, King T'Challa, and Queen Ramonda clearly had been preparing him to someday ascend to the Wakanda throne when the time comes. Heavy is the head that wears the crown. T'Challa knew this all too well. So for now, simply let Toussaint enjoy his life as a boy.
Lupita Nyongo's Character Nakia going to Mexico to find info on Namor was great. She has a real life connection to Mexico since she was born there and seeing her speak Spanish was also great.
The way they introduced the “Atlanteans“… Was so cool. And the mythology of the sirens… The way they incorporated that was scary and epic. Namor was awesome.
I loved Namors new origin and look more than the comics, and I somewhat disagree with Coy but to eachs own ❤️
the 5 years of Shuri not knowing can be answered by Shuri getting dusted. The other 1 year when they got brought back was probably to rebuild Wakanda and as the head of Wakanda's research and development, she is busy on trying to find ways to better protect the nation from outside/space threats. MarvelStudios should do a spin-off of life in between the blip. that 5 years.
I didn't cry until the Queen died and then I cried a few times after that scene. Bassett deserves a best supporting actress nomination for this commanding and emotional performance. I felt that her lines were intentionally crafted to give her a chance to show off her acting skills and Bassett shined, as usual. Kudos to Coogler and the crew for making such a powerful movie under the worst circumstances imaginable.
Got home from the theater about an hour ago. I lost my mom this year. For me, this film was a cathartic journey through my own personal tragedy and grief that I’ve endured this year. It was greatly emotional for myself, and it challenged me to face that grief in ways I just haven’t been able to these past eight months. I’ve got the day off of work tomorrow, I’ll be finally taking some of my mom’s ashes near where I grew up to spread them.
