This movie has its problems, but as someone who would give anything to see his Mom again, the heart of this film gets me every time.
Sasha Calle.... I so wish they used her for the Super Girl movie... She did such a fantastic job.
Sasha Calle's look for Zara Zor-el was perfect to me.
Every time Kristen rants about the multiverse, my gut reaction is "Kristen didn't grow up with Sliders and it shows."
For reference,Gotham is in New Jersey, Central City is in the Midwest, Metropolis is in the Delaware Bay beach area, and Star City is in Seattle.
In this movie, it's not the multiverse that had consequences, it's time travel that had consequences for the multiverse.
I really like it. The love and sorrow Barry has for his mom at the heart of the film really moved me.
So when Kara is usually put into her pod and sent with Kal, she’s young teenager and he is an infant. Clark’s pod makes the trip to earth and crashes in Kansas, while Kara gets trapped in something called the Phantom Zone, and ends up getting to earth when Clark is already an adult and operating as Superman. In most adaptations.
Little Barry runs out of the house when his dad tells him to call 911 because it’s a flashback to a time when cell phones weren’t widely used. He was running to his neighbors to use their landline. He was running because he was trying to call 911 as soon as possible, not because he was ignoring what his dad said and just running away.
I was born in 1983, I was adopted out to a wonderful young couple. A school teacher and a police officer, unfortunately my dad was undercover for most of his young career and we never got a chance to do anything together except the first time you took the training wheels off my bike. In 1989 Michael Keaton‘s Batman came out and my father had been undercover for four years. The case was over and he came home and took a couple of weeks off but the next day he came into my room and asked me if I wanted to see the new Batman movie. I ran up to him and hugged him and said yes let’s go I didn’t care what movie we saw I just wanted to hang out with my dad. I remember how excited I was walking into the first movie with my dad, then the Batman music started and I was super excited and so is my dad he was always a fan of Batman. The next day he was called in to go work with the DEA in Mexico on something. I didn’t see him for a while but I will always have that memory of watching Batman with my father. When I heard the Batman 1989 theme and I saw Michael Keaton put on the cape and cowl I felt like a little kid again, and I really wanted to watch this movie with my dad but he’s no longer here but I knew he would’ve loved it. People can say what they want about this film but it had heart and I think it was meant as a chefs kiss to the people that enjoyed watching the first Batman film.
