I hate that it is called “vibe coding”. Like what vibe? The only vibes you get from “vibe coding” are Imposter Syndrome and grief, for when the LLM can’t help you any longer.

as a bug bounty hunter I agree, the more you do vibe the more we make money.

I think when people say "coding should be a vibe" what they're searching for is the flow state. My best work happens when I can shut everything else out and just flow. Those times are rarer and rarer at work, but man do I cherish them when they happen. LLMs allow people who have never really done that to feel a facsimile of that flow state

Gotta love the people who live on LinkedIn 🤦🏻‍♂️ This whole trend blew up because executives saw an opportunity to try replacing their high-paid engineers, juniors finally made something other than a React To-Do app, and a bunch of folks wanted to launch businesses while cutting a lot of corners — maybe enough to support one user, if that 🤣 Don’t get me wrong — if you pair AI with a solid engineer, it can help you brainstorm or guide your direction. Might even save you a trip to page 20 of Stack Overflow. But give AI the coding — the fun part? Yeah, no. Not happening 🤣

20+ hours of boilerplate debug cause I was tired and vibe code... It was the best thing that happened to me. Now I significantly scale back my use of Claude and GPT. Back to Happy Coding.

I taught Ruby/Rails a few years ago, and when I typed "redirect_to root_path unless current_user.is_admin?" some students thought it was pseudo code. I'm now using Python (for my resume) and Go (for the perfs) but damn... do I miss the pure beauty of Ruby and Rails.

I’ve used Rails full time for about 4 years and it was a really pleasant experience. The language never got in the way, and speed was rarely an issue for us.
