VPS sponsors are the new VPN sponsors. The moment he went on about how complicated local hardware is and how much easier a VPS is, I knew this is a sponsored video. Every single one of them reads the same script, when in reality the easiest thing you can do is install Hermes on a local old machine and never worry about it again. Installed it in on my old 2018 laptop and slapped discord on it, it's been running 24/7 for the past 3 months with zero issues and I pay only the electricity, the agent takes care of its own machine and everything else. It literally couldn't be easier. Stay local, stay free and own your hardware.
Random thought: Remember the BloomZ petals torrent that ran a full LLM inside a torrent cluster? Now imagine all agents orchestrated through something like that — building one unified harness together. Instead of everyone creating isolated, soon-to-be-obsolete stuff in their own bubble. participation would just come down to how much you seed back torrent ratio style, for those who know. users could have tokens for some full 30t parameters model, seti harness.
53 minutes of abstractions costing money. Zero real cases making money. Yep, that is insane.
Wes, have you used the Hermes desktop app yet?
hostinger is wildly over-prices
3:28 when you do it that way you leave so.much performance on the table. If you have the hardware to dedicate to the task then run it all on bare metal with none of the docker/virtualization overhead.
I already started this experiment on another project, but cool.

I love Hermes Agent (Desktop and WebUI) but in a lot of ways it sorta feels like you're trying to keep a sinking ship afloat. I defiently spend more time patching holes, fixing bugs, and improving my system capabilities as opposed to working on projects. Don't get me wrong, it very satisfying and totally feels worth it, but so far, it's become more of a hobby than a business tool.
