Along the way they meet Tony Tony Chopper, the gentle reindeer who ate the Human-Human Fruit and became Kureha’s assistant. Meanwhile, political tensions surrounding King Wapol — the exiled ruler of Drum — continue to ripple across the region, while Marine Captain Smoker (Callum Kerr, Monarch, Hollyoaks) and Tashigi (Julia Rehwald, Fear Street trilogy) investigate a massacre linked to the shadowy organization Baroque Works. The emotional core of the story unfolds in Episode 7, “Reindeer Shame,” which explores Chopper’s tragic origin. Through Dr. Kureha’s story, the Straw Hats learn how Chopper was adopted by the eccentric quack doctor Dr. Hiriluk, whose dream was to cure every disease in the world. Hiriluk’s iconic cherry blossom philosophy and his moving speech about how a person truly dies only when their dreams are forgotten leave a lasting impact on Chopper’s life.
