Less than 5 minutes of Internet searching will inform you that a hoarder home is a structural, health and financial death trap.

First Story: I honestly think this is worth a divorce. This guy buys a house that cost more to fix than the property itself and has no idea how to flip the house for profit. I honestly wouldn't want to be with someone who makes such a decision behind my back, especially something this stupid

Last story; it didn't sound like the OP was too deluded about the situation. They're overtly aware that the arrangement is transactional and that she's providing a service. The fact that she seems genuine at it may be adding to their self esteem issues; she's providing a service and she's good at it, but he's beating himself up that they wouldn't make that effort without compensation. I hope he doesn't get too hung up on her, but he feels like less of a man, and maybe even a failure as a human in general, that he has has to pay somebody to show him basic human connection.

I’m sorry, but how stupid do you need to be to buy a hoarders home and NOT have someone do an inspection BEFORE you buy the house?! And this applies to any house, regardless of age or condition

Fifth Story: OP found a winner in Leah. It is really great when someone who is completely unbiased sees how bad someone is without u telling them how bad they are. OP best keep Leah because she is a keeper

Story 3: “People might think I’m bitter,” nah, OP was betrayed by the one person she loved after putting so much effort in the relationship just for him to essentially abandon her when he didn’t get what he wanted.

With the last story, sure it’s not true or genuine affection but it can serve as an ego boost, a balm on a broken heart and quite a few sex workers are genuinely decent people that offer empathy and expertise to clients without the expectation of anything real.

Divorce story - Taking the high road means that OP won't go on a smear campaign and put her husband and his mistress on blast. It does not mean she doesn't get to ask for and demand what she deserves. I don't know why people got confused by that.
