Thomas has given a hint: saturated fat is actually OK with low carbohydrate type (keto/carnivore) lifestyle. With low carbohydrate and very low sugar intake, saturated fat can help you lose weight.
carbs are bad with any combination with any food, i think it's appropriate just treat carbs as a rare treat occasionally
Just my experience. I don’t know berberine did to my blood glucose levels but it kills cravings for me. That has allowed me to lose weight and go lower carb. So now I am no longer pre diabetic
Best explanation of blood sugar. Very succinct. I have a CGM and it goes up for everything, resistance training, HITT, walks. Comes back down after about an hour.

How about 100% cacao powder in morning coffee?
This is just something that has helped me along the way of loosing 100 lb and reversing my pre diabetic diagnosis. Could just be me and placebo like affect but like 15/20 minutes before meals I drop a serving of 20 grams pea protean powder and a table spoon of chia seeds into a large class of water and down it along with some cinnamon and ACV. Have been doing this with my 2 meals a day for about a year and a half now. Also eat a grapefruit some time between my 2 meals if I get hungry but that's really just because I like grapefruit lol.
