I’m 67 years old and have never heard a President say such awful things about our country & the people who live here💔🤍💙🇺🇸

As a Minneapolis resident, I have never in my life felt more patriotic or loved my country more than when my neighbors and I stood arm in arm in -20 weather to fight together against federal invaders. It helped me realize what we have and why it’s worth fighting for.

I’m a black woman and my husband is a veteran. Our flag is up most of the time and we started to take it down because we didn’t want people to think we’re ok with everything happening in our country. We decided not to because we want people to know that we are black Americans. Our ancestors helped build this country with their blood, sweat and tears. The color of someone’s skin doesn’t matter. Some of these people really believe that they are more American because of who they are. I know WHAT my ancestors did to make this country great and that flag represents them and their contributions to this country.

Sarah it's not that the Democrats love the US less, it's that they are less blind to it's weaknesses and believe in progressing towards being better. American patriotism often seems very naïve and self-serving in it's denial of the country's shortcomings.

As a non-American, I really just wish Americans would forget about being great and just try being good.
