Hey Ben, I really hope you read this. I would like to thank you for your plans, your attitude and your advice. Last weekend I qualified for the comrade’s marathon using your plan and did I a sub 4 hour an absolute dream of mine to qualify and to do it in under 4 hours made me sob at the finish line. Thank you so much for what you do! 🙌🏻
I’m 69 years old preparing for my 23rd marathon in just eight weeks from now. Actually finished a marathon five weeks ago with a 4hr 45min time. My PR from younger days is 3hr 4min and I have two Boston finishes. The key has been to keep moving. I’ve had three achilles surgeries during the last ten years plus a cancer journey and have six anchors in my right foot so I know a lot about staying positive while fighting back through recovery . Even with that said, I enjoyed watching your video. I’ve got a ten mile run tomorrow. ❤
Sometimes I find doing a race as part of my training always helps, it helps me learn what works for me, nutrition, making any mistakes (yes it’s a thing) and learn from all of that
After years of disappointment in the ballot/ lottery for London and Berlin marathons got an email today with a spot in Berlin; really chuffed especially after seeing your videos of that event and can’t wait 😊
Also a good thing to remember, there will be other races, so if it doesnt go to plan just learn, adapt and go again
After running my first organized race I realized there was one part of running that I loved the most. The solitude of it. Now I just train for personal best times and distance goals. It truly is for everyone. Have fun y’all!!
I work at the nyc marathon and every year there are runners stressed getting to the start line. Such good advice, telling ppl to plan this out.
Currently training for my first marathon
The tip about Strava stalking the marathon course segment is genius.
This guy is amazing, you are very motivating in the way you are ever smiling.
