And here was me hoping I only needed to run three times 😂
Do a “Parkrun sandwich”, which consists of 5k easy + Parkrun itself (speed work) + 5k recovery run
You helped me go from zero to run my first marathon in 2024 and here I am learning from you to run my first 100km in 2025. Let's go!
I've been running for 15 years, done 12 marathons with a PR of 3 hours plus a bunch of triathlons at varying distances. I've never trained more than 3 times a week on the run as I burn out if I run more than that.
Great video- must say, I love progression runs. Missing in there is a least a nod to the importance of supporting strength and conditioning work - so often overlooked- and hugely important for us “older” runners >50 y/o….
I have a Half, 10k and Full this year. I look forward to your new videos for extra tips.
This is the sort of video I would love to make, but wasn’t sure how to execute it in an interesting way. You’ve crushed it, thanks Ben
My long run trick was run to park run, do park, run and run home, found it helpful practice to deal with other runners when tired
I wish I had this video 5 years ago when I started running. Putting it in a visual format on a weekly training schedule is very useful as well. Thanks for all your contributions to the sport of running Ben.
Great breakdown of the three essential runs, the long run for endurance, the easy run for building an aerobic base, and speed work for efficiency. Super helpful advice on leaving the ego behind for easy runs to stay injury-free
