I believe Story 1 had a bit of an update, basically the parents made good on their threat to tattle to the extended family, and all of them have started harassing OP about abandoning the family. Also, OP doesn't even mention the apartment anymore and talks like she's still living at home, but her parents are still "punishing" her and telling her she's a selfish, awful person. Little sister is also refusing to speak to OP.
With how the kid was acting in the second story, this makes me think that is why OP's sister didn't answer when OP called. I'm figuring she knows how much of a terror he is, and didn't want to cut her time short from being away from him.
That rule of thumb for time outs apply only to calm children so you don’t start the time out timer till they calm the fuck down and you restart it every time their tantrum starts up again.
Story 1 was on another channel a few months ago, with a lot more detail. Her family showed up at her house and her mom pretended to have a seizure in the hallway. When she opened the door they forced their way in and wouldn't leave. Raised such a fuss that a neighbor called the police. The parents claimed that OP was emotionally unstable and she was forced into counseling. The counselor (who had some relationship with her parents) was very religious and stated that she didn't have the ability to live on her own and was trying to force her to move back in with her parents. She was able to get an independent counselor who identified the problem as her parents & proved that she was not not a danger to herself. Her parents actually tried to sue her for emotional abandonment but that fell flat. She finally laid down the law and told them (mom dad and sister) if they ever tried anything like that again, she would cut them off completely and permanently. The parents accepted it and actually realized that things were a little better, now that her dad had an actual bed to sleep in. Even so, they were a little butt sore about it but there's been an uneasy peace since then. Believe it or not this was the abridged version of the full story. It was a lot longer and contained more detail but I only included what I could definitely remember clearly.
There was an update to the first post where basically the parents were successful in reeling OP back in and are emotionally abusing her as punishment for her “betrayal”.
I think the better analogy for the First Story RSlash is looking for is, A Bucket of Crabs, where if one crab is trying to climb out of a situation the other Crabs will activately pull that escaping crab back down so they all share the misery.
If anyone is curious, the study that showed a frog will sit in steadily heated water was done on frogs that had parts of their nervous systems removed.
i feel so bad for OP in story 1, she doesn't know that she's psychologically and emotionally abused, i hope she leaves!
The wife called off the wedding so she could still save face. "Well I dumped him, he didn't dump me" kind of mentality
That recording should "leak" into the same facebook page she was talking about "showing their true colors" in! that'd be a pretty crazy coincidence!
