As a GenX starting his life over, I have a lot of sympathy for GenZ. The rewards for hard work have disintegrated. Companies don’t reward it, home ownership is gone, marriage and family are gone. Wages will remain suppressed through immigration. What am I working for? My next video game purchase?
I disagree about sick days. If you go to work sick, you are likely going to spread your illness to others and cause a bigger problem. My husband and I have both caught horrible illnesses from coworkers before. It’s inconsiderate to others to not stay home if you are sick.
Saying sick days are for children is pretty dumb. I was in the hospital and took a sick day, does that make me a child? I put my health before my employer for a day, so I’m a child? I think you need a reality check sometimes.
My dad almost never took sick days. He was dedicated to his work. He died in his 50’s at work. People have to be humans before employees. Your health is more important than a job.
"Sick days are for babies" - Says Matt Walsh out of comfort of his home studio in an 800 thousand dollar house in Nashville, Tennessee, recording his next piece to send to an editor he's never seen face to face.
If I were an employer I would mandate people take their sick days if they are sick. I don't want some snotty, sneezy, coughing mess in the office with me. Stay home!
Only soy corporate workers are like this. I work in construction and the gen Z workers are super solid and reliable.
No Matt. Im not coming in to the office to shit my pants at a cubicle. Just so a boomer boss can think I’m working because he can see me.
Easy to say don’t use sick days when your “job” is a podcast
No thanks. If im sick, im taking it easy.
