I stand by my belief that Natalie Portman should have got an Oscar for this performance, if only for the scene when she's stood outside Leon's door desperate for him to let her in!

23:48 you called it. She’s never felt loved and taken care of and it’s being twisted around in her young mind. Leon only ever feels the love of a father for her.

I like the little detail about how Tony didn't give up Leon that easily. When Matilda goes to see him after Leon dies he's all beat up because they had to force him to tell them where to find him.

The “EVERYYYYYYYYONE!!!” line delivered in that way was the third take and Oldman didn’t tell anyone he was going to yell it. Apparently he did it to mess with Luc Besson. Besson absolutely loved it and it made the final cut.

You got it just right at the end with the POV camera view of Leon. You'll see as he was just heading toward the exit, the flash of light from the gun shot and then the camera starts to fall slowly. Incredible cinematography. Always worth a re watch.

I feel the Headmistress believed Mathilda at the end

“EVERYONE!!” I love this movie so much. For years my friends and I would scream “everyone!” anytime someone asked a question about the quantity of pretty much anything.

You perfectly understood the relationship between Léon and Matilda. Some reactors don't. It's not a sordid relationship. Matilda is a teenager who falls in love with a teacher or someone she admires; these are normal feelings when you're 12. But Léon is an adult and loves her like a daughter. You asked about the extended scenes. Basically, they're the scenes where Matilda helps Léon at work and the restaurant scene when she gets drunk. A cruel paradox: if Léon had killed Matilda on the first night, he'd probably still be alive... But he didn't really live his life to the fullest until he took Matilda in.

For Matilda it was just a crush, because no one had ever treated her so well before. For Leon it was just some one who thawed the ice around his heart, and reminded him what it is like to have someone to care about, who cares about you, but not in a sexual way.
