There's another hypocrisy in the 3rd story. You've mapped this whole carpool but now it needs to change because a further client needs to be dropped off first? If you don't trust the driver, en-route is probably a bad spot to confront them. Just everything about those people is not too sharp.
Story 3 should have been brought up before they were in the car
3rd story: the problem is not the request, it’s the timing of the request. Not wanting to be alone in the car with a stranger is a perfectly reasonable boundary, but they were willing to agree to a ride and get into the car without expressing that boundary, and then as soon as OP presented evidence that they didn’t read their mind, they acted as if it’s obvious. A normal person would have expressed that as a condition prior to entering the vehicle, then if OP said no, just not gotten the free ride
1st Story: I think OP’s lazy and greedy family members who didn’t do the work but want the reward need to read the Wise Little Hen again.
I'm so sick of hearing the entitled pregnant women saying they can't help eating whatever they did cause they had cravings. It's not a get out of jail free card.. You crave something? Go get it or have your partner get it. You don't get to steal from someone else and blame the baby. You know you won't die if you don't fulfill the craving, right?
Dinner story: The fact the wife has OCD makes it even more hypocritical. If she was empathetic enough, she'd realize how she'd feel when someone sprung a surprise reservation on her
Birthday story: the wife put in so much effort to make the reservation - too bad she didn’t put in a little bit more to listen to what her husband actually wanted for his birthday.
Story 3: as a woman, I get it. Friend of a friend, sometimes you dont really know people. But, could've brought it up earlier, could've offered to chip in for gas for the extra mileage, asked to stay at Sandra's house or gotten a different ride from there. Could've been handled differently all around.
Last story: if you took a pregnant woman to a restaurant, and they started eating from a strangers plate. Do you think anyone’s gonna care about them having cravings? Nope. Which is why it probably doesn’t happen a lot, almost like pregnant women are still capable of respecting basic boundaries, and the ones that don’t are just entitled jerks that thinks being pregnant give them a pass to do whatever they want. Also, I think OP should look into getting a new place. The baby isn’t even born yet and these two are already helping themselves. I guarantee you the very second that baby is born they will expect any and probably every kind of help from OP.
Story 1: "We did nothing, but pay us a cut anyway because……uh……family?" The entitlement is staggering
