Here's a breakdown of the shoes discussed: Best Daily Shoes: (1:16) Puma Velocity Nitro 4 (1:36): Praised for its value, grip, and versatility, though it can be narrow. Adidas EVO SL (2:59): Highlighted as fun, fast, and great value with premium foam, but has a short tongue and isn't the most stable. Asics Novablast 5 (4:43): Valued for its durability, versatility, and comfort, though grip can be an issue. Best Speed/Tempo Shoes: (6:13) Nike Zoom Fly 6 (6:34): Noted for comfort, speed, durability, and value, but less stable for heel strikers and not ideal for walking. Hoka Rocket X 3 (8:34): Offers a smooth, stable, and lightweight ride, suitable for various runners, but is a bit expensive. Best Race Shoes: (10:09) Adidas Adios Pro 4 (10:29): Comfortable, lightweight, and fast with great grip, but not ideal for heel strikers or wide feet. Asics Metaspeed Edge Tokyo (12:05): Extremely lightweight, responsive, and comfortable for speed sessions and long runs, though it's expensive. Nike Vaporfly 4 (14:09): Unbelievably light and fast, especially for shorter distances (5k/10k), but unstable for heel strikers and less suitable for marathons. Best Long Run Shoes: (15:53) Asics Superblast 2 (16:06): Super lightweight, versatile, and durable for long runs, despite a higher price and firmer feel. Asics Megablast (17:52): A lighter, bouncier, and softer alternative to the Superblast, offering great versatility for various runs, but also expensive. Best Recovery/Jogging Shoes: (19:46) New Balance More v6 (20:01): Offers good stability and comfort for easy miles and casual wear, but is heavy and not designed for speed. Nike Vomero Premium (21:25): A "crazy" shoe with incredible bounce and softness, surprisingly stable for its stack height, but very heavy and expensive. Most Disappointing Shoes: (23:19) Asics Sonicblast (23:23): Criticized for its firm, clunky ride and high price, especially for a niche shoe. Brooks Glycerin Max 2 (23:58): Found to be heavy, firm, and expensive for what is essentially just a jogging shoe. Nike Pegasus Premium (24:32): Described as heavy, chunky, uncomfortable, stiff, and narrow, considered more of a fashion shoe. Best Shoe of 2025: (25:19) The Adidas Evo SL (25:24) or its ATR version is named the best shoe of the year for its exceptional price, value, and the enjoyment it brings to running.

Hi Ben, new subscriber here. Just wanted to say a massive thank you - a friend of mine recommended your Level 4 advanced marathon plan after they successfully ran a sub 3 at Brighton earlier this year. I'd ran two marathons since 2023, achieving a 3.20 and 3.19 and decided this year to push for 3 hours. I purchased your plan in July and followed the schedule as closely as possible. I ran Florence Marathon this past Sunday and came in at 2.55.06, an absolutely incredible achievement that I did not think possible earlier this year. Thank you so much - keep up the good work, I'll be a returning customer and will be recommending your marathon plans to anybody looking to achieve a PB or to run a solid race, I'm absolutely over the moon and couldn't have done this without your help!
