How to Fix a Culture of Emasculated Men - Scott Galloway
Addressing Men's Struggle: Navigating Societal Narratives and Defining Aspirational Masculinity
Discover why current discussions surrounding young men's challenges inadvertently sideline their needs and explore the essential attributes men must cultivate for societal and personal success.
Short Summary
- Understand how the "soft bigotry of male expectations" leads to praising female competencies while implicitly devaluing equivalent male traits.
- Recognize the profound negative consequences when young men lack male role models, leading to increased depression and incarceration risk.
- Learn the four core variables men should actively solve for: Provider, Protector, Procreator, and demonstrating Surplus Value.
- See why political sensitivity often results in ignoring the demographic group (young men) falling fastest on critical social metrics.
This discussion breaks down the current landscape where solutions for young men feel politically untraceable. Scott Galloway argues that while progressives acknowledge the crisis, their proposed solutions often mandate men act "less masculine," which is inherently unproductive. The path forward requires embracing aspirational masculinity linked to contribution, relationship guardrails, and recognizing innate male/female biological and psychological predispositions.

As a man, we need to start supporting one another publicly and stop hiding.
I can attest as a man, life gets easier when you realize life is hard. It’s not encouraging but I can say just keep pushing. Life courses will push you to grow and change
I love how Chris brings up how absurd it is we always have to frame men's issues by prostrating ourselves to women's issues of the past, and Scott continues to do just that.
I need to find a woman who loves me as much as Scott Galloway loves Scott Galloway.
I love Scott, but I dont think he ever attended my HS. The most popular people were definitely the most good looking, most wealthy, and most athletic. Many of them were complete a-holes but it didnt matter because their other resources could overcome terrible personalities.
Good luck on your health journey, Chris. We’re pulling for you
Can we all just appreciate Chris’s subtle humor for a second? 😂
The most important thing about this 4-decade hate movement is that we protect the feelings of the people who authored it, promoted it, built careers out of it, and are working 24/7 to stomp out the tiniest bit of pushback.
Can we finally acknowledge that we are living on land stolen from the dinosaurs?
