My mind isnt capable of the mental gymnastics required to view that marketing as genius.
Keeping 15% of their customers honestly sounds grossly overestimated.
Instead of advertising aimed at half the people on earth (males) they switched to a 1% audience. They're done. 😂

Imagine if Jaguar had stuck to their famous designs that did sell and only modernise the inner workings to electric, and made a more normal and sane ad campaign. I doubt they would have to sacrifice 85(!)% of their customer base.
This must have been how the CMO explained to the management.
