Rethinking GLP-1 Medications as Brain Drugs vs. Weight Loss Tools

Discover why GLP-1 hormones should be viewed as powerful interventions for brain health and metabolic cleanup, not just superficial weight loss aids. Learn the critical sequence for combining these drugs with ketones for optimal results.

Short Summary

  • GLP-1 drugs have a decade-long safety profile, but their primary role shifts toward influencing brain function and amyloid reduction.
  • Ketones provide cleaner neurological fuel, which stimulates essential mitochondrial turnover (autophagy) that glucose cannot match.
  • Combining GLP-1/GIP hormones after establishing a strong ketogenic base maximizes fat cell energy release (lipolysis) and supports neurological cleanup.
  • A detailed case study demonstrates significant cognitive and confidence improvements when hormones are layered onto diet competence.

This session updates the audience on the science linking GLP-1s to reduced amyloid production and improved long-term brain health maintenance. The critical message emphasizes that dietary readiness (ketosis) must always precede the introduction of hormone intervention for maximal therapeutic effect.

I started taking tirzepatide for lipedema. Previously lost 60 lbs being ketovore but could not break my plateau. Lipedema fat is very hard to lose. I’m not eating anything different but have lost 8 lbs this 1st month on the lowest dose. My ketones are in check , feel great & can’t believe how this has helped already. I started developing lipedema at age 11 so I’m a chronic dieter. This peptide is giving me the hope/ help I need to feel like a human again. I did the hard part and now it’s helping with the last 15 lbs.

I tried ozempic for 3 weeks last year. I immediately developed an excruciating nerve inflammation that wrapped around from my back to my abdomen just below my belly button. I noticed when I took my 2nd shot, the pain would ramp up for about 3 days almost unbearable then slowly calm down over the course of the week then ramp up again with the next shot. I told my Dr it started with ozempic and gets worse with each shot and she said "that's not a known side effect". I said "it's a side effect for ME. And I'm not willing to continue ozempic. Im still experiencing nerve pain every few months as soon as one nerve heals, a different one flares up. Nobody can tell me why. I don't trust drug companies but I let my Dr talk me into trying it and now I regret it.

I’ve been ketogenic for a little over a year. I am now one pound over my goal. My A1c has gone from 14-something to 5.5 My wife and a number of friends had gastric bypass surgery or staples or a sleeve or something like that. They all died morbidly obese, all the while suffering from various side effects of their surgeries.

Perhaps a shift in focus to Retatrutide, a triple-agonist, along with a Keto, Carnivore, GAPS diet, at least until NA-931/BioGlutide become available.

Anyone being a lab rat for big pharma should know better by now. Good grief. Just give it 5-10 years and you’ll see all the bad stuff this causes. Already seen some early life altering side effects in people reported. No telling what big pharma is covering up.

My only side effect on Ozempic was significant brain fog so bad I thought I might lose my job. I lost weight, but I lost too many IQ points to stay on it. It felt like it broke my brain. Fog went away after i got off it. I lost 80 doing ketovore.

My A1C was much better controlled on Mounjaro than on metformin. Moreover, I did not have to stay within ten feet of a bathroom. I was pretty rigid about carbs and was obsessed with my CGM. I didn’t notice the weight coming off until a few months later. I didn’t own a scale and finally got one. I lost about fifty pounds. My last A1C was 4.9. I was never hungry for a second because the blood glucose was all I focused on. I’m on 5mg with no problems. BP and blood lipids are all low or within normal levels. All medications have side effects and I would love to eliminate all medications. This medication helped me to get a handle on several cardiovascular and metabolic issues.

Hi there, I was checking in. I haven’t seen any new content from Dr. B just making sure everything is OK with her husband sending love and prayers. I may have missed if she was out of town on a conference thank you.❤
