Summer tires on a G-wagon tells you everything you need to know about their customer base. 😂
The G-class EV does not use a rear solid axle (as mentioned in this video) but rather a De Dion type rear axle setup with double universal joint driveshafts transferring drive propulsion from the electric motors and incorporating slip joints to equalize the length. Also the biggest difference between the G-class EV and Hummer EV is that the G-class actually has low range gearing, the Hummer EV does not.
Both of these electric SUVs proved to offer formidable off-road capability that matched their giant price tags, but with different approaches. Which of these legacy off-roaders appeals to you more? Let us know in the comments below!
I want a Mercedes G EV 4x4 Squared. That would be an unstoppable beast.
If G wagon doesn't make that noise its not G wagon but G spot
G wagon - $160K, 240 mile range.
Quick correction: The Hummer only has a "virtual" locker on the rear motors. If you have the off road package, it has a physical locking differential in the front that is only usable in Terrain Mode.
239 mile range (MB) v. 359 (HEV), makes this a no brainer. 239 miles for a $200k vehicle is shameful.
This is my first time coming across your channel. This video is just incredible. The commentary, camera work, and overall info are fantastic. Thank you!
We’re missing the better match to the g wager which is the R1S quad. I guarantee far more people are cross shopping those two, than are shopping for the hummer
