Description

A year ago, all three of the best-selling midsize trucks — the Ford Ranger, Toyota Tacoma, and Chevy Colorado — received full redesigns. Also a year ago, we added each one to our One-Year Road Test fleet so we could find out what it was like to live with them on a daily basis. Now, one year later, it’s time to unpack our findings. In this video, Edmunds’ Clint Simone and our editorial team dive into our ownership experience with these three midsize trucks. 00:00 Intro 00:32 Chevy Colorado 03:54 Toyota Tacoma 07:10 Ford Ranger 10:18 Maintenance & Reliability 11:53 Depreciation/Value 12:34 Edmunds' Take Subscribe to Edmunds https://www.youtube.com/user/edmundsvideo?sub_confirmation=1 for the latest car news, car reviews, car comparisons, car shopping and advice. So moral of the story is you'll probably end up liking whichever one you end up buying

As a Toyota employee, how can the Chevy have MORE plastic than the Tacoma? Did not know that was possible, lol.

This review was honestly fresh air to my nostrils. All 3 of them were given a fair evaluation and were all treated with the respect that comes with manufacturers building these machines. You sir, are an unsung hero for not being biased

I have a 2024 Ranger and haven't had any issues with the rear doors not closing. I have also not noticed any issues with the transmission needing to warm up, but I live in Texas so perhaps that is more on an issue in colder climates. My only complaint has been the sensor for the adaptive cruise control is really sensitive and disables that feature on occasion when it's raining or a bug hits the windshield where the sensor is located at the top of the windshield. Beyond that, it has been great and exceeded my expectations. I keep it in eco mode and usually average about 23 mpg city/hwy combined with the 2.3L. I have also towed trailers several times and it handled that task like a champ as well.

If you had to pick one of these trucks to own, which one would you pick and why? Let us know in the comments.

33% depreciation in 15k miles and 1 year is fucking insanity

Be happy that you have a choice of 3 good trucks. I'd pick the Ranger.
