Intel Layoffs Continue To Get Worse -- 40K Worthless Employees Dumped in 2 years

When are they going to dump their executives? Nice collection of low-tech backups.

7:38 when I was finishing up grad school and had an offer from intel, the person that was in charge of undergrad labs (aka not even a professor, just a technician that worked in the engineering department) told me Intel was dying, and that was in 2014, so some people knew what was up a long time ago. For the whole 10 years I was there, it steadily got worse. I left voluntarily in the big reduction last August, as the writing was on the wall, and my manager was a complete moron and I was tired of dealing with him and his bs on a daily basis. Still know and talk to many people there, things are now worse than ever

Knowing several who Intel let go were far from "useless". Brilliant people. Intel is worse off without them.

Just recently, last week Intel informed they were gonna move their Assembly and testing plant from Costa Rica to Asia (Malaysia, Vietnam), the week before around other 300 workers from here were laydoff, so in Costa Rica Intel went from around 5000 employees to maybe 2000, I'm still not completely sure about the exact numbers, but it was a major hit here.

Intel forgot to rebrand and put a sticker on its processors - AI inside.

The silver lining of this is that the geno state has no longer Intel's investments. the bad news though, we're gonna have Red x86 monopoly instead of Blue.

You forgot Palm, Nokia etc. These companies just seem to lose their minds at some point and just can't see that it is all about to go away.

Still employed there for now but these layoffs should be given lots more attention. Just personally, those of us still here just trying to do our jobs. But now with less people, and less pay. Morale is not high to say the least.

Worthless? It’s ok to put your opinion out, make it clickbait too, but shameful to use words like these to impacted employees. You may be the greatest genius the planet might have produced but you can’t rate other people’s worth. That shows your worth, your mindset, your upbringing
