However it would also lead to him stepping back from the role. Connery would be recast in favour of George Lazenby with him starring in On Her Majesty’s secret service. After this Connery would only live twice as he’d then return for Diamonds Are Forever. So what was it about this film that made him step back and does it still deserve the high esteem it gets?
