I’m 36 now, and literally watched this the other night while the rest of the family fell asleep. Kinda glad they did, not going to lie, coz there were a few tears man. Love this movie.
My high school friend came back from Iraq after being deployed in Fallujah. He hadn’t been doing very well and actually reached out to me to hang out. Sensing something was off, I hastily rearranged my plans to go over to his parents place and brought a six pack of his favorite beer we used to smuggle into movie theaters. We ended up sitting down and watching The Iron Giant, as his family had it on DVD. Neither of us had seen it since we were kids, and when the Giant said, “I am NOT a gun,” my friend just absolutely lost it and began sobbing. It wasn’t until much later that I realized the full weight of that…
The Iron Giant remains one of my all-time favorite movies. I'll never forget how, in the summer of 2002, Toonami aired a 24-hour marathon of The Iron Giant. My friends and I spent most of the day and night watching it. It is an absolute treasure that came full circle recently when my 5-year-old watched it for the first time. He loved it so much, he wanted to watch it again. Absolute classic!
It’s impossible not to get choked up at the climax of this movie. It’s an absolute classic. It’s on my very short list of perfect films. The pacing is flawless. Not too rushed and not too saggy. The visuals are gorgeous and unique. The message is timeless. Every damn time I catch that scene with the town all looking on at the incoming missile, while the music creeps into the mix, just impossible not to cry a little.
"...no following" - makes me tear up every time I think about it. Thanks for a great breakdown, love this movie. 🤗 Took my oldest to it when he was 4 and my mom came too as she was visiting at the time. His first big movie in theaters. Was just a wonderful experience and a great memory.

This cartoon was a classic growing up and actually way ahead of it's time
Joke's on Warner. I've seen Iron Giant over a hundred times and Sixth Sense zero times.
I don’t know if the speaker owns the channel, but whoever the speaker is in this video has a very great voice. That is very easy to listen to in very welcoming.
I've only watched this movie once. Only because it made me cry uncontrollably.
