In it we see a seagull drift into the docks, only to reveal that it’s James Bond’s disguise. The agent then uses a grappling hook, beats up a guard and plants some explosives in a secret storage room. Upon exiting he strips off his wet suit to reveal a pristine white tux beneath it. It’s complete fantasy but it immediately grabs your attention and show the dynamics of James Bond. Bond then sparks up his lighter as the explosions rise and he goes back to a room with a beautiful dancer. He then takes her out along with a henchman before uttering a pun and we then we cut to the films iconic titles. It’s an incredible way to start off the movie and its something that would change the course of the franchise. Though From Russia With love had a pre-title sequence, that was more of a happy accident. The film was reassembled during editing but never written to have that scene start the movie. However for Goldfinger they set out to do it from the start.
