Thanks For the lovely video. I lost my mum to cancer a couple months ago and she used to watch you and enjoy your videos so very much. Was feeling quite depressed today and this totally cheered me and brought me such a sense of comfort. Thank you.
9:30 Parisian here : 36€ for two sandwiches is called a tourist trap. Both sandwiches look legit (nice ham and bread) but 18€ for a half-baguette, 10 grams of butter, 4 slices of ham and a couple of slices of cheese is a joke. You could find the same quality in a lot of other shops for under 10€, no question. My best advice for tourists coming to Paris : get off the beaten track. When you find yourself in an "authentic little bistro/restaurant" in Paris that was recommended to you on social media and you're surrounded by other tourists or influencers with staff who can't speak French, ask yourself just how much of an "authentic" experience you're getting. PSA : also PLEASE stick to the right hand side of the subway escalators if you're not walking, you're blocking people's way and basically asking for murder :)
I went under chemotherapy two years ago. I would watch your show when I was going through the worse of the worse. Watching your show would keep me going I would travel with you to all those wonderful places all from my couch
As a french, what a pleasure to see you enjoying our cuisine. We are proud of it.
As a french living in Isan, Thailand, i'm so glad that you came to France. Next time consider coming to the Alps area, the best cheese meal you'll ever have in your life
My memorable French meal was a simple sandwich jambon. Delicious baguette, ham, and butter. For only 2 francs. Yes. That was years ago. But just eating French bread on occasion while on a budget was a revelation and joy. Thank you, France.
Time to give a shout-out to Ying for her fabulous camera work. That, in addition to full-time parenting while traveling - she is a marvel.
10 euros for a litre of mineral water. They saw you coming.
The places are overpriced. Jambon beurre is 5€, croissant is 1,20€. A meal in bistro is under 20€. Just don’t go in restaurants on the mains streets( specially corners). It’s most of the time tourists trap.
This was extremely enjoyable. Thank you Mark for being so joyful and positive in a world that is struggling. Best to you.
