45 min walk 4 x week 11 push ups Weight lift 2 x week 30 second sprint 4 x week Balance and foot speed (brush teeth on one foot, switch off each day)
My mom will be 95 this year…no walker…no cane..played tennis till she was 89! Walks 2 times a day and excersize class 3 days a week! She has always instilled in us to be active everyday! She had not changed cognitively or physically in 25 years! Also she takes no medication…Keep moving people & you will keep living!! I workout with weights 4 days a week…72 years old and feel 40!!!
My dad is 96.5 and my mom is 93. They still travel, drive, show up for family and friends. Keep moving! And serve others.
I’m 79 years old and lying in bed at 1:00 am watching what is possibly the most important video of my life! My husband is 89 and I am taking care of him and I feel like I am falling apart. Some how along the line, I quit moving!!! I always moved!!!! What the heck happened!!!??? Well, I am moving tomorrow, by God! And from now on!!!!!
I'm 74. People are jaw dropping shocked to fined that out. The keep moving part is spot on. Diet is so important. Cutting out sugar is huge. Not that I don't splurge now and again(weddings, birthdays, holidays) just don't make it a habit. AND DON'T LET ANYONE SAY"YOU'RE TOO OLD"" TO YOU. because it's simply not true.
I’ve been listening to this while driving on a 5 hour trip. I pulled into a service centre and noticed a lady about same age as me getting out of the car at the same time as me in the same manner as me; looking stiff and limping after a couple of hours into our journeys. We both laughed and she said “I hate getting old”. I showed her this video, highly rrecommended it , and she said “great, I’ll listen to this over the next 2 hours if my trip”. A win already.
In 2016 I broke my hip and shoulder I tripped on a telephone cord when I was running to get my jogging shoes haha. The doctor told me I probably wouldn't survive a year. They really have to stop doing that. It's not only cruel but it deprives someone of Hope. Anyway I proved them wrong. I'm 78 lift weights. Do two yoga classes a week and raised two grandchildren from the day they came home from the hospital till they went to school. Don't listen to anybody. Follow your heart it knows where to go.😊
My mom is 90 years old. She walks for an hour every morning. She still mows her lawn and edges and weeds her garden. She does her house work and shovel snow. She has never taken a formal exercise class in her life. She has no osteoporosis or even osteoporosis. Her blood pressure and heart rate are wonderful. During our grandparents lives there really was no such thing as formal exercise. Everyone just did their chores and didn't lead such a sedentary life.
Years ago I met a lady who was about to turn 100. She had started her day on the treadmill for 20 minutes. Then she walked to the mall she lived near, dressed beautifully, hair done, and was going to walk home. She had been active all her life. Back in the era when it wasn’t considered ladylike to exercise, her father had insisted the whole family be active, so she’d been involved in sports, tennis, field hockey, swimming, hiking, etc. She was living proof of the positive effects of that lifestyle.
“You are more important than the menial tasks that you prioritize over your own health.” WOW, I needed to hear that.
