In England Tallow is known as beef dripping , we also like to use lard which is probably also the best for pastry.
Seed oils are actually great. For oiling squeaky door hinges, bicycle chains and other mechanical parts. Thats what seed oils were originally made and should exclusively be used for.
Dr. Saladino I just want to say thank you. I was having severe back problems as a 20 year old and for 8 months no doctor here was able to help me, and they were guessing the cause of these problems and putting me on many medications. Eventually I quit seeing them and taking medications. I started seeing your videos and listening to your advice since it made the most sense and just like magic the pain decreased until it’s minimal now. People really under rate nutrition where it’s on of the biggest factors that influence our health. Please keep teaching people about nutrition and health.. we do appreciate you much!
When I was throwing away my old deep fryer it became evident to me that seed oils turn into a hard surface and smelled like varnish. I am now living the carnivore lifestyle and using quality saturated fats to cook with.

Prior to industrial food lard was used in the USA as a cooking fat. Crisco was a cottonseed substitute for Lard. Lard is pig fat. Tallow is beef and sheep fat . Suet is a hard organ fat.

You forgot to mention lard and its cousin bacon grease. Lard was a staple for cooking in the US until Crisco came along and everything went downhill from there.
