"This doesn't make any actual sense." Now you've got it
"That was one of the most absurd, nonsensical, random..." The Python team would be so delighted to hear that description!!
"One day lad, all this will be yours." "Whatโฆ the curtains??"
Note, the knight that killed the historian was on a horse, so he couldn't have been King Arthur or his knights. They were framed
Cassie doesn't think she gets it, but she INSTANTLY gets it: Quoting from the movie, talking in funny voices, and making sound effects with her mouth and pretending she is riding a horse. The movie is absurd, but every moment sticks in your brain, even if you just watch it once.
now tell your sister she needs to see it for the epic plot, deep messages and high production values
In the theater, when the "Intermission" came on, they would raise the house lights . . . giving just enough time for people to get up and head towards the restrooms/snack bar . . . then the movie would suddenly pop back on and everybody would have to scramble back to their seats. Also, at the end of the movie, they would leave the house lights down, leaving the audience sitting in silence, wondering if the film had really broken, or if the movie was really over. Remember . . . 1975 in a theater . . . (I was 15 years old and saw it in the theater twelve times)
One of the guys, I want to say Eric Idle, once commented about Monty Python style, (and I am paraphrasing here,) "We wanted our comedy to be something undefinable. Later we were told that they were putting the term 'Pythonesque' in the dictionary. So clearly we failed utterly."
My all time favorite line is when Lancelot slays the one castle guard, and the other one just belatedly protests, "Hey..."
I don't know which is more fun. Watching someone who really 'gets' Monty Python thoroughly enjoying this movie, or watching someone who is utterly baffled by it watching it.
