A perfect example of "write what you know": Ben Affleck's father had worked as a janitor at Harvard, his mother was a math teacher, Matt Damon's mother was a professor of childhood development who studied abused children, both Affleck and Damon grew up working-class in Boston, and Damon attended Harvard briefly. They integrated their life experiences in a brilliant way

Robin finally won his Academy Award for this. It was magical. Billy Crystal, his best friend, was hosting. When they hugged, I cried. I miss Robin. Thanks for the watch.

Everyone (rightly) raves about Robin Williams, but Minnie Driver and Stellan Skarsgård are absolutely incredible in it as well.

The “Fart” story was ad libbed by Robin!!! Matt’s laugh was real!!!

When Robin Williams passed away, Matt Damon reportedly went to the bench where they filmed the monologue to feel close to him. This movie catapulted Matt Damon to being a top box office star and Robin Williams will be remembered as one of the all time greats.

Minnie Driver is a fantastic actress. Her transition from conviction about her past to her breakdown to "i don't love you" - blows my mind every time.

Carly says "easy on the language", they're surprised about people getting in street fights, and amazed that Dunkin's is everywhere, clearly they've never been to Boston lol

Now THIS…is ACTING. This film never gets old.

I love how Sean starts out condescending calling Will chief and sport. In the final breakthrough, he endearingly calls him son.

The way Matt Damon cried in Robin’s arms… he sounded like a child, like every bit of his childhood that he had suppressed was finally being released. Such a perfect climax. This is one of my favorites movies of all time.
